Our Mission & Vision

Our school was founded as Edu-Play Montessori in 1999 and it became Sekolah Montessori Kiara Karitas in 2005. All of the  classroom environments are designed to be conducive to the Montessori philosophy and are equipped with a full complement of Montessori materials.

We are commited to a school which is small enough to maintain a feeling of family. Thus, we can maintain individual attention and foster the development of each child in our care.

We aim to nurture the whole child as we cultivate each child's unique intellectual, emotional, social, physical and spiritual potentials.

Sekolah Montessori Kiara Karitas is deeply commited to laying the foundation upon which each child can build, in order to become the architect of his or her own future.

The foundation consists of an open, inquiring mind, a loving heart, and a solid inner confidence that permits respect for our earth and its inhabitants.

The ground work is laid in an environment of intellectual challenge and close, supportive relationships among students, teachers, and parents.

The Role of Parents

Parents play a vital role in the development of  "community" in Montessori schools. Through their presence at school as volunteers and through a wide range of social events and celebrations, students get to know the families of their friends and grow up with a sense of being part of an extended community. One of our common goals is to lead each of our students to explore, understand, and grow into full and active membership in the adult world.

SHARING A COMMON PHILOSOPHY AND APPROACH

Although Montessori schools may appear different, they all share a common philosophy and basic approach. The Montessori approach has four great qualities: this educational model is replicable; it can be adapted successfully to new situations; it can include educational innovations based on recent understandings of learning; and it is sustainable, operating in many schools continuously for fifty years or longer.

Montessori education is founded on the pioneering child development research, philosophy and writings of Dr. Maria Montessori.

It is an education which nurtures the child's intuitive desire to develop his or her abilities and resources to live in harmony with the world.

The Montessori education relies on a developmentally appropriate classroom in a multi-age grouping.

It also utilizes concrete materials to allow the child to explore and master concepts.

The main goal is for the child to ultimately find the joy in learning and the fun that comes with being part of  a community within the school as well as in the classroom.
